Default FP3 Question

If,en I bought a fp3 for 2015 streetglide could a buddy use it also to map his bike? OR Is it married to engine serial no. like H/D tuner? Is there a smart phone that wont work it for sure? If I use friends phone to do my bike is that ok?? Sounds like I may half to have him ride BITCH to get it mapped? Ya know safety first!

It is married to your VIN only and an Iphone or android can control it. So if you sell your bike it goes with it as I don't think V & H will program it for a new bike at this time. Would be nice if they could do that for a fee.

It locks to your VIN, you can retrieve and clear codes on another bike but that's it

Anybody been able to use the FP3 on a 2016 Rushmore bike yet? I have tried with Andriod and Iphone with no luck.
I called Wednesday and was told that the maps weren't approved yet and it would be friday, well tried again today and no luck.

You can use your friend's smart phone to program it and if you have the right components for the map better use V&H provided map. Auto tuning is not any better then their map and it requires you to ride the crap out of your bike to program the higher RPM. I tried the auto tune and didn't have good results went back to their stock map works great.

I don't know, but I was told by tech support that maps weren't approved yet. But I still can't get it to flash, I will be calling on Monday to find out why. I will keep you informed. My question was has anybody successfully flashed a 2016 yet?
