To followup on my last comment. I did recently go on a ride with others who had the Uclear system and paired my head set to theirs. Worked great if you like to listen to each other talk while on a ride. Personally I quickly started looking forward to an opportunity to un-pair from other chatty riders. I much rather listen to my music and any phone call can wait until Im off the road. I don't take calls driving my car and see no reason to start talking on the phone while riding.
What I do wish would work is the navigation prompts to my headset or ear buds, but to do that it looks like I will have to hard wire.
Now this is just my way of thinking, but I much rather get inside my own head on a ride and not listen to someone else. I don't have a wife, but if I did I'm sure I would not want to listen to her chatting away in my head either. My girlfriend does it the old school way and that is another story for another thread. Sorry about the rant and if I got off subject, but the whole HD Boom system has been difficult to get setup the way I had hoped it would work and now finding I have to spend more money or just compromise.
If you can return it, I would. I bought into the Uclear system based on the sales pitch of the HD dealer only to find out that it only syncs with other uclear units. I works fine with my iphone, but for $30 at walmart you can get ear buds that do the same thing and sound just as good. I also have noticed the HD dealers are no longer stocking them, that says it all.
Sadly nothing on the market will pair with the HD boom system (head or helmet set). I never thought to ask when I bought my 2015 SGS, just assumed in today's age of technology that if it has Bluetooth it would pair with most any Bluetooth device. Not to be. I was getting my SGS serviced just yesterday and got talking with a sales guy and he proceeded to tell me that any Bluetooth device would pair with the HD Boom Box, so even after how many years since the release of the HD Boom system sales people are still mis-informed. What is true is that most Bluetooth phones will pair with your HD Boom, but some with limitations.
I don't think the sales guys think about the fact that people what to pair a Bluetooth receiver with the Boom audio. The problem lies in the fact that the Boom audio is the Bluetooth receiver, not the transmitter.
I looked at Sena and the warranty is only vaild for the original purchaser...which irks me a little
The Uclear actually looks really nice from everything I have seen.
My only issue is I need to have a bit of power to the speakers...(half deaf...according to my wife)...and no one around here stocks anything like these....

Well said and I believe that is exactly the problem.

Then you want the 20S with earbuds. Illegal in most states but really, who cares????
whoa this took off! I've read several reviews about the uclear and sena and without personal experience from either they both rank about the same only thing the sena dose the uclear wont is am\fm radio but who needs that when your in the middle of no where. I'm going to install them and try it out this weekend without velcroing the speakers in place just so I can return them if I need. I have read the new 1.7 firmware helped out the system a lot and will allow it to pair to other brand devices.
as far as talking with the wife it would be nice, last time we rode up hwy 191 out of morenci there were big horn sheep in a ditch of a hairpin turn and she missed it. the other 12 of us all saw it but her. so she dosent want to miss out again, she dosent talk much anyone when were riding.
got it installed temp right now just playing music and damn there loud! It is "tinny" as most say not sure sound quality can really get much better or even have mids or bass since the speaker is so small and thin. Thats what the fairing speakers are for! I also find it difficult without a glove and on the couch to find the arrow button to double click and skip tracks. Maybe it will just take time to build muscle memory, now I want to play with a sena... I really like not having the boom tho!

If you get the speakers closer to your ears, I think they will be less tinny. So maybe some foam spacer pads to get them closer.
Also, foam earplugs will help a lot to reduce that tinniness. But they obviously cut the volume, and they are already hard to hear.
To test, put on a decent pair of headphones with similarly sized drivers and give hem a listen. Then pull the speakers away from your head about 1/2". You'll probably hear the same sort of sound.
The only thing with that is I try to wear ear plugs on the freeway. Trying to save what hearing I have left.... :/
Got to get the noise isolating earbuds. Two birds, meet stone. ALso, MUCH better sound quality from buds, and less need to crank it up to overcome surrounding noise.
TBH, regular in ear-buds that seal in the ear cuts out enough wind noise for me. I used to wear earplugs too. But with a helmet covering the ears, and the earplugs (just cheapies I got with my phone) it's more than enough.
