GREAT NEWS Stealer called and the damage is fully covered and the best part is they are sending a complete new engine, not a short block. This pleases me, starting over with a brand new engine after 19k miles. That's like getting a new bike.
I'm pleasantly surprised for you. Guess they couldn't come up with any reason to deny the claim, so they just paid up.
This is why I love my Limited - Harley dealer network just rocks. If this was BMW you'd be fighting with them for the next 4 months while the Germans told you how those pins wouldn't have mattered and it only failed because you weren't riding it right.
I wish HD would make some sport touring and adventure type bikes - I'd have a garage full of them. No more German crap for me and wish I'd have seen the light many years ( and many tens of thousands of dollars ) ago.
I'm amazed that the bike went to so long with the anti rotation pins gone. I know they're roller lifters but man, you'd think that would have come up sooner. Good for you OP that they're going to be stand up about it.

I have to agree with you. Even with all the bad apples out there, the H-D network of dealerships is the best in the motorcycle industry hands-down.
Also agree completely with you regarding German crap!
Don't think the MOCO will ever come up with a true "adventure bike" though - maybe that's for the best.
Dealer called today and said the new engine arrived today and the bike would be ready Friday sporting a brand new engine. I ask if the compensator sprocket is warn will they replace it or not and he said it would be replaced. Cant wait to pick it up and get it broke in again.
With the small issues I've had, and had to battle with the dealer to get it repaired, I was getting kinda worried. Glad to know the mothership does the right thing. Your experience may sway me into getting the ESP after all.
Trust me its worth every dime, in 2008 my 110 engine did the same thing at 22,000 and they repaired it at no cost then at 92 thousand they replaced the engine for the $50.00 deductible and then I traded it at 111,000. for a 14 limited which I traded at 6,000 for the 14 se. seems the 110 engine has a lifter problem and a compensator sprocket problem because on my 08 I had 3 in 111,000 miles and I suspect this one is already bad at 19,000. I will find out when I pick up the bike Saturday morning. DO NOT BUY A HARLEY WITHOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. That $2000.00 is well spent if you ride. If it stays parked maybe not. Also do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for tires and wheel coverage. They bought me 3 tires on the 08 but so far none on the 14. Guess no flats is a good thing but when on vacation and you have a flat and get a new tire installed for free it doesn't wreck your vacation.
I coughed up for the esp too, figured with all the new tech on the wet-head, its was an easy choice. Btw, are you willing to name the dealer? It seems we are always quick to bash a bad one, might be nice to give props to one doing the right thing!
