You have to be doing something wrong.

The file you download is not operating system dependent.
It is just an iso file. It will be the exact same file no matter what computer you use to download it.

What WILL make a difference though, is the format of your Flash Drive.

If you format the flash drive with your Mac, make sure you choose MS-DOS (FAT).
Don't use Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Some people like to format their Flash Drive every time they do this, but there really isn't any need for that.
Once the flash drive is formatted with a FAT partition, you don't have to do it again.
Just delete any files on it you no longer what if you want.

You can have as many files on that Flash Drive as will fit. No need to format it or start with an empty drive every time.

I have never had any issues using my Mac for this.

My inability to get Mac friendly aside, has anyone updated to CVO by changing the .iso file extension from "CVO" to "GT"?

I recall a thread including that earlier. I think the only that appeared to be different was the splash screen.

What does this software update? I am still on the original version 16.0 I think. Any issue(s) with this one?

Download the latest software version from harley-davidson.com
a. Select "Download Software Update" for the appropriate system.
b. When prompted, save the compressed file to your computer desktop.
c. When the download is complete, copy the file within the zipped folder to the root directory (the first or top most directory in a file system) of a USB flash drive that is 8 GB or larger.
d. Turn your vehicle's ignition switch to ACCESSORY. (Keyless ignition vehicles: press and hold the trip switch for more than
two seconds).
e. Turn on the audio system and connect the USB flash drive to the audio system's USB port.
f. The audio system will detect the new software available and ask if you want to update. Select “Yes”. The display will prompt
you to remove the USB drive when the update is complete.
Thanks ! Saved this to the notes on my iPhone !

Do NOT change the extension of the file to anything other than .iso - or it won't work.
