Default rushmore tuner?

I'm sure this is a debatable question but I'll ask anyway. What is the best tuner to use on the rushmore bikes? I'd like to get my ducks in a row before I buy a new bike. The most I'll do is air cleaner, full exhaust (most likely 2.5" baffles), and maybe new cams. But I wouldn't want to void the warranty. If that's possible. And I'd rather not have to remove everything every time I take it to the dealer. So what's the pros and cons to the thundermax, powervision, sert, ect..... Thanks for any input. Mike

Yep, it's about as debatable as the best oil threads.

I personally won't use anything other than a flash tuner like TTS or direct link. It really depends on who's doing your dyno - find a good dyno guy and go with what he likes. A lot of guys have success with self tuning, but I don't care for it - if I'm going to spend money on a tuner, I'm gonna get a full dyno. The warranty debate is never ending.......One good thing about TTS is you can buy a unit with dual licenses if you have multiple bikes it saves you quite a bit compared to buying 2 units. I think some of the others may be doing that as well now. I can't give you a reason why, but I don't care for the power vision, just a personal thing. I also wouldn't use a thundermax because I have no desire to replace my ECM.

Power vision, and don't do a drop in tune from a website. Use a reputable, as in not a dealer, tuner. My tuner said he's been seeing preprogrammed tunes not sync properly with HD software and cause issues.

I bought a new Road King this year and the tuner was part of the deal that they would install and warrant the tuner. I do not know exactly the name but it is a Harley race tuner that will allow adjustment for cams and such. I think that it was the SERT. BUT THAT WAS MY DEAL THAT THE TUNER WOULD BE UNDER THE BIKES WARRANTY WITH OUT VOIDING ANYTHING .

I'd like to know the pros and cons of the canned, auto tune or pro tuner.

I don't don't plan on going farther than Stage One. I'm a firm believer in Fuel Moto products & services & used their products before. But this time, I got a great deal on an FP3, so I went that way & got it in the mail today. Called Vance & Hines & got their recommendation on which map to use based on my set up. Installed it in less than thirty minutes & took a ride. Much smoother throttle response, highway speeds et al. & ran better right out of the box with the canned map. Looking forward to using the Auto Tune feature.

I'm a Power Vision guy myself but there a several good tuners out there. I would say if you plan to have anyone in your area dyno tune your bike then see what tuners they are fimiliar with and go that route.
