At FT Pierce get on the turnpike to avoid the worst traffic jam in Fl. As mentioned above take Card Sound RD for some sights. If you have never been to the Keys for sure go. As for me I'm done with it. For me it's just another tourist trap with one road in and out.

If you have time and come down or up the west coast of Fl. let me know. We are just outside of Ft. Myers in Cape Coral. I am usually good for a couple of rounds if you want to take a break.
Someone mentioned breakfast in Key West....they have the regulars, Denny's and a couple more on Duval. If you want to try a couple of Key West's more traditional places, Blue Heaven is a neat place, with really good food, parking is on the street. You can usually squeeze a bike in some where. http://www.blueheavenkw.com/
Also Two Friends Patio Restaurant http://www.twofriendskeywest.com/ good food, but can get crowded when the cruise ships dock.
