Mine is on the left side, as that's the side my charger is mounted in the garage. I have mine wire tied off to the frame tube, just in front of the left bag. It does hang an inch or so above my exhaust, but it's been over a year and it has yet to melt or even become disfigured. I do like the outlet idea though. Not sure I feel like going through the hassle of mounting a plate. lol

How do you keep the Tender wire off of the exhaust?
I don't follow... You mean when I get home to plug it in and the bike is still hot?
1) I let it cool down.
I have been known to put the tender on right away as I knew once my *** hit the couch - that was it. Ain't gunna make it all the way to the garage to tuck her in for the night. In that instance, it depends if the passenger foot board is up or down.
2) I typically put it on the jack, so it goes like either one of these.
Or
Neither of which is a concern for the tender wire on the exhaust.
