Default USB , Boom file issue

Hi Guys,
Looking to add trips using ride planner to Nav.
Ok got to the point where I have the route saved to USB but it seems to want to add the file extension.gpx.xml
Would this be a problem and the reason I don't seem able to import please?
Searched everywhere - what little hair I have is going from too much head catching here...

THanks

I use the HD Trip Planner and the files have just ".gpx" as the file extension. If you opened the file using something like Microsoft Word you may have inadvertently added the extra " .xml" extension to your file if you saved it. You might be able to just rename the file so it ends with ".gpx" only. Then go try to imprt it into the Boom again.

Hi,
Thanks.
I used a USB in a Mac to download to....followed instructions to the letter but the .xml seems planted....Unfortunately I have no idea how to edit but will take a look shortly.
Thanks

Update edit;
OK tried that removed the .xml, (it now reads as this on the USB) but when I plug into boom it only shows up as the initial layout eg. .gpx.xml

I'm thinking the issue will be how it was saved to the stick...but unclear,,.. Mmmmm

Ok I thought I might update - info might help one day...
It seemed the Mac was adding .xml to the file. I tried it at work today (non Mac machines) and the file loaded directly to USB as GPX file and imported perfectly to the bike.

Oddly enough (trying to be clever) so not to confuse myself I did another second route, this time adding something to the title between "HD Ride planner" and ".gpx"....tried importing this one and failed......
So giving t another go tomorrow.....European tour awaits later this week....
Cheers
