Default Overheating Issue ???

I have a 2015 Ultra Limited. While riding yesterday in over-90 degree heat I needed to stop for a 5-10 minute break. I left the engine running. When I attempted to move on, as I was on a gravel covered hill, while gently maneuvering the bike I stalled it. The cooling fans continued to run and the emergency flashers came on. When I hit the starter button nothing happened.

In about 5 to 10 minuted the fans went off and I was then able to start the bike.
In the manual it says there is a " limp mode" that will kick in if the bike is overheating, but I saw nothing that describes what happened to me yesterday.

Has anyone here experienced this? It seems like a normal condition to protect the bike from excessive heat, but I would like to hear from those of you more experienced than I. I stopped for gas later on my ride, turned the bike off and when I started the bike after that , everything seemed fine.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

Your fans running after you shut the bike off is normal.
You left your bike running while "stopped" for 5-10 minutes in over 90° heat.

Yes, your fans are going to run then.

I don't believe you actually had an "over heat" condition though.

You stalled the bike, and your emergency flashers coming on could just be an indicator that your FOB wasn't detected right away.
That would also explain why nothing happened when you hit the starter button.

I really wouldn't leave the bike running if your just going to sit and rest for 5-10 minutes in that heat though.

Do you have the Rear Cylinder Cutout activated on your bike?
Makes a big difference when sitting still in that kind of heat.

But I would have to agree with Rollamo, I would not let it sit running for that long!
