Default dropped it!

At a rally last Saturday i dropped my road glide twice within 1 hour! Riding for 50 years & only dropped when drinking. I haven't drank for 18+ years. A buddy said it was because i used the front brake with the front wheel turned. I thought about that & he was right- both times in parking lot going slow. Any Thoughts???

I agree that using the front brake with wheel turned sharply on a heavy bike is a recipe for a fall. Hope you didn't have much damage

Under 5 or parking lots. Back brake only if you're turning. Straight? I always use the front case my feet are usually getting ready to go or stop.

I've only ever owned one bike that I didn't accidentally drop. It's the one I bought Sunday

Everybody drops a bike once. Don't feel too bad. Pick her up and dust her off.

With all due respect, even after 50 years of riding, we all can be and should strive to be better riders. I have the Ride Like a Pro DVD and I watch it every single year as a refresher and reminder of things I need to stay focused on. The guy is a little corny and the production value of the DVD is hilarious but the techniques he teaches, especially in slow speed maneuvers, are rock solid and I practice them continuously.

Sorry to hear about the drop, glad you're okay. None of us are too old or have too much experience to learn how to be better riders.

That front brake is not your friend at low speed especially with bars not straight recipe for what happened. Even worse on gravel.
