I had my first problem with my bike this weekend. Rode 2300 miles in 5 days, Sunday the day before I leave to come home the shifter stripped. (Bad thing is I wasn't surprised when it happened after reading the threads on here) Called got into West Side HD in Indianapolis first thing Tuesday on the way back to NC. (Shifted with my heel on inside forward lever), got last shaft spoken for. On the road by 10am. Was I mildly irritated, yes, do I think HD needs to do something about that? HELL yes, (same shift system for the last how many models, and now it's failing? It's painfully obvious they are getting them from a different vendor, with softer steel being used and they are failing... when this never happened on the older models, with VERY HIGH mileages.....
