There also is a second open hole on the other side of the fender that is much smaller that does not show up in the pic.
I have put some duct tape over it as a temp measure until my next service visit.

My wife has a hole in a similar location, I plug it regularly.

My 2011 has it. I just put a piece of black roll bar padding tape over it.

I have never noticed that hole being much of a problem and I ride in the rain a lot here in the PNW.

What's the diameter of hole? I'm too f'in lazy to take the seat off mine.

some models have tail light wiring that runs up and sticks up under the fender and comes out there.
