OK..one more thing... when you play through the speakers. Are the front speaker on? If not, adjust your fade to the middle

Both of you put your headsets on and plugged in, go to your settings, go to com, go to intercom, have your passenger talk to you while you are adjusting you volume from the handlebars. This is the way you usually have to get both front and back volumes to the level you want. Just like if you want to have the volumes for the phone or the prompts someone has to be talking to you on the phone to be able to adjust the volume, same with gps prompts she has to be giving you a prompt to be able to adjust volume up or down.

You say both, meaning rider & passenger, but the rider headset has 3 different volumes. Audio, Intercom, & Navigation. A 4th if you have CB
Obviously the radio is the easiest to try and straight forward.
Since you haven't said anything about a second headset, I'm assuming you haven't tried the intercom. How about navigation?
Either way, go into the Nav or Intercom setting and turn the volume up. You should hear it beep and change levels.

In his first post, he mentioned that he has tried several headset cables - so one might thing he has at least 2 headsets.

Hopefully he will come back and let us know where he stands - or if he has tried what we suggested and need any further help.

Could be the connectors on or under the tank isn't working, or even at the head unit; or just a messed up unit.

My bet is that the connection under the dash is not plugged in. Remove dash, make sure the headset socket is plugged into the wiring harness properly. Replace dash. Problem solved.

Dropped it off at dealer. Settings were fine so I left it and they will figure out what's wrong. They told me this isn't the first time they've had the issue.

Did you check the settings on the infotainment center? Could be turned off there.
