How is keeping up with or having the fob any different than keeping up with the key you stick in the ignition?

My fob stays on the ring with the bike key, if I did not have a fob I would still be keeping up with the key, I'm not seeing how they are a pia.

+1, I always carry a spare battery in the saddlebag. So far I haven't needed it but if I didn't carry one I'm sure I would need one!!

A few days ago i way backing the bike out of the garage, and it started chirping, intermittently. I got the bike out and then replaced my battery in the fob in my pocket and the fob in the house.

I did take the card out of the owners manual that details the procedure to enter the pin. About a year ago i changed my pin and said, i'm going to practice this once or twice a year (entering the pin). Famous last words, haven't practiced once, but i do have the card in my wallet.

Keep a good battery in the fob.
