I like my LRS. They're not changing the world for me, but I like em. I got 2 (one tall clear, one shorter smoked) when they were having the "garage sale." "Blemished" products... Something like 20 bucks a shield and I can't find the "blemishes" for the life of me. (I think that's just how they sell them if they've been installed)
That price is pretty commensurate for the quality of the shield.
I bought 1 a few years ago. Didn't care for the look or the wind swirling.
Gave it to a friend, who gave it to a friend, and so on. They asked and no I don't want it back.

Yeah I hear ya. I had one on my old RK and liked it. But it seems the quality has gone downhill. And whoever QCs their shields must be blind. I ordered one and it had some pretty obvious defects. Scratches and bubbling distortion around the edges. I complained and they sent another one and the owner promised he would personally mail it. The second one was just as bad. I told them I'm gonna cut my losses and take my business elsewhere and I was promptly given a refund and a third shield. The third one looks the way I expected the first one to look. But I guess the old saying "you get what you pay for" rings true. I'll spend a little more next time for a quality shield.

I know that LRS changed their coating process for the polycarbonate shields. I noticed that the latest shield has way more reflections in it than the 2 year old shield I had on bike. Not happy with that at all. And that's with me always wearing polarized sunglasses. So no excuse.
Next time, which may be real soon, I think I'll try the expensive Freedom shield. Like you said, you get what you pay for.
