Hello. Is there a big difference between Klockwerks and Harleys wind splitter shields? The designs looks very similar. I had a 6.5" KW on my `11SG(very pleased). Now have a `14FLHXS- I have a chance to pick up a windsplitter 7" fairly less $$$. Thanks.
I have had the KW 8.5 and now have the HD version. The HD version is more of a flat top and it is also a lot wider. I found for myself that the HD was a better shield.
I have them both and like the Harley windsplitter better but they don't make one tall enough for me so now I use the lrs javelin and love it. Best thing you can do is try as many as you can and go from there. It costs money but usually its worth it in the end.

Yep. I went through 5 different shields before finding the right one. And if Harley came out with a windsplitter 1" taller I would buy it in a second.
I went to HD yesterday and tried several. I'm 5'10", 30" inseam, so long torso, and I couldn't find a windshield that changed the wind for me. I tried windsplitter, klockworks, and one other brand, and there was zero difference. I didn't bother trying the 10" that they had because I don't want a shield that big. I ended up buying wind deflectors for the fairing wings, forks, and lower triple tree.
I had the 10" HD wind splitter on mine BUT......its not available tinted and it had terrible distortion at the flip area. Look at others and they all had the same issue. I like the fact that it is wider than most, but the distortion was unacceptable. A small windshield company in Santa Fe Springs CA called 7Jurrock makes a copy the the HD Windsplitter but NO distortion, comes in any tint you'd like and is far cheaper. They sell for about $65. They have a website or you can call them and tell them exactly what you want. No extra charge if you want one and inch higher or lower, they are all made one at a time.
