I own a 2016 Ultra Limited, today I took the bike for about a 200 mile ride. My girlfriend and I were plug into the bike hoping to listen to the radio. When the bike accelerated past 40 mph the Boom Box stopped working, when I slowed down past 40 mph everything worked fine. I stopped by the dealership and asked a salesman about the issue, he had no clue. The bike is going into the shop in the morning.
I was wondering if anyone else experienced this issue. Thanks
Sounds like you & GF were listening through headsets. I'm guessing you have the intercom turned on, but the intercom volume turned down. When your speed was fast enough, wind noise in the microphone opened the intercom VOX. When that happens, music is muted & the headsets are switched to the intercom. Intercom volume is set separately (using same volume up/down switch) & if it's turned down, nothing will be heard in the headsets. When your speed was low enough, the intercom VOX shuts off the intercom function & the headsets are switched back to the music, which has the volume set loud enough to be heard again.
Check to see if your intercom function is on. Might save a needless trip to the dealer.

You should be able to sense it in your headset if the VOX is kicking in. Before you start the bike, get on your headsets and turn the music on. You should be hearing it thru the headset speakers. Adjust the volume if necessary on both the head unit and the passenger control, and adjust the VOX sensitivity. Also may sure the headsets are securely plugged in- on both ends of the cords. Once you start the bike and get up to speed, you'll need to adjust the sensitivity of the VOX to keep the engine and wind noise from activating your intercom and muting the sound from the radio. Sounds like a VOX thing to me too, once you got past 40 MPH, it gets more and more noisy.

Exactly. What blows me away is that the dealership didn't know. That should be the first thing they check......if in fact that's what it ends up to be of course.
Thanks to everyone who provided me with the information I need to fix this issue. You all seemed to know exactly what the problem was unlike my local dealership subject matter expert on the Boom Box 6.5
