Default Hammock vs Mustang

I have a new 17 RGU with a new Hammock seat (non heated) and backrest (non-adjustable). Unfortunately I just sat on a Mustang Summit Vintage seat at Daytona and loved the position (1.75" back). Has anyone had these two seats (any Mustang touring) on the same bike? If so, how do they compare in comfort? Obviously I'll get multiple opinions but I just want to hear them. And if anyone convinces me the Mustang is significantly better, the Hammock is for sale.

I've had three seats on my RGS. The factory seat, a mustang solo and a Hammock. The Hammock is by far the most comfortable seat I've had on any bike. That being said, its big and silly looking, and it raises you up a bit. I don't care much about looks, and I'm tall to the rise doesn't bother me. My girl loves the back seat as well. Just my .02.

Thanks. The look of the Hammock on mine isn't too bad because I have the tour pack. And I'm 6'1 so the height doesn't bother me either. So there's one post making me lean toward keeping the Hammock.

They are two different animals. I have not ridden on a hammock but i did sit on a bike at the dealer so I certainly am not qualified to judge the long distance comfort. I like my mustangs but again they are at opposite ends of riding positions.

I have owned both, they are different, But it's hard to pick one, cuz everyone is different, I like the Hammock, but it started to bother me, after about 1,700 or a bit more miles, But after i got rid of it, i read about the sling part of it slipping, Could of been the cause of comfort changing to worse. Bought the Mustang, was a good seat, but just not perfect. Sold it and bought a Mustang super tour, I still have, but still room for improvement( for me anyways). Just got a Corbin dual tour, but no weather to ride in since purchase. So Probably not much help, just saying every butt is different , good luck

I have the Mustang Summit on my 16 SGS. I've done an iron butt to the tune of 1150 miles in a day. Multiple 200-400 mile days with it. It one bit of soreness. I love that seat. My wife also loves it for two up riding. She won't even entertain the idea of putting the stock seat back on. I can't compare it to the hammock, but I wouldn't trade this seat for any other.

I listed the Hammock and rider back rest in the classified section if anyone is interested. I'm testing the waters.

I tried the Hammock demo from the dealer on a 300-mile ride and didn't like it. Ordered the Summit and will try it out this weekend on another long ride. Seems like seat comfort is highly subjective.

Same here. But add in a stock ultra seat. The hammock is the best of them all. When I bought my 16RGS I bought the hammock that day. It's my go to long haul seat.
