Hi, we are traveling out of town on vacation with a bunch of fellow bikers. One of my friends has a 2015 ultra limited low. On my old 2008 ultra I know there was a reset for the computer. It was cycling the ignition on and off five times and then something to do with the turn signals. Is there a reset on the Rushmore's? His trip meter will not change, you cannot start the bike in gear and the gear illumination indicator is not working. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance for your time
Switch pack, did it get wet? Water kills them, might get lucky and flood the housing with WD-40 and get it working, worked for me after the dealer power washed my bike when in for the clutch recall.... Stuck straw into an opening and flooded it with WD-40 and all was good again.
McHad - I think the previous responders understand what he is looking for.
They, like me, believe that it is not a function of resetting the computer - the problem is the left switch pack causes all of those issues. Even is you reset the computer, they issue will still be there because of the left switch pack.
I changed my switch packs to the lighted ones - they have not had the same problem as the original installed ones on the Harleys. Several of my friends, when they had a problem, had the dealer switch to lighted under warranty and paid the difference (think is was about $20).
As for cycling the ignition to reset the computer that does not work on the newer bikes. I think they changed that around 2012 model year?
If it was just the no start issue in gear you are probably okay and could clean/flush it out as mentioned. With the trip meter issue it is probably worst case requiring the change of the switch pack as mentioned.
