Auto reply text
So I downloaded iOS 11 yesterday and noticed it has an option for auto text when you’re driving.
Has anyone noticed if it fixes the issue of not auto replying while on your Rushmore bike?

If you are connected to the boom it will auto reply that you are driving via iMessage not boom. The iPhone sees you are connected to the vehicle and disabled notifications and auto reply that you are driving.
Updated iPhone with new software (11), I can't get the auto reply to work still. Has anyone gotten it to work yet with iPhone? If you have, what did you do. I've tried the different settings on the phone and Boom systems but it still doesn't work for me. Help ?????

I'm no expert on this, but my understanding is that the iPhone IOS11 auto reply would tell someone "I'm busy, cant reply right now" (or whatever) ....... BUT you will NOT be able to see that you have a text NOR listen to it.
I always thought the original BOOM function INTENT was to perform the auto reply AND still let you listen to the text.
1) Do I understand the IOS 11 functionality ?
2) Do I understand what BOOM was hoping to provide ?

Here's what I have found out with the Auto-Reply
If I have Blue Tooth selected in the Notifications for "Do Not Disturb While Driving" in the iPhone Settings/Do Not Disturb and then select "Manual Do Not Disturb" from iPhone Home Screen, it will auto generate a reply but it is from the iPhone, not the message created on my Boombox. I still get notifications for messages on the Boombox as always too. Again, the message that Auto-Reply sends is the one in the iPhone and you can edit that message in your phone.
To Add the "Do Not Disturb" Icon to your phone home screen (push up) - Go to Settings/Control Center and then select "Customize Controls" and include the "Do Not Disturb While Driving".
Any other suggestions that may work better would be appreciated.

Here are the steps to configure it in iOS 11 on your iphone:
How to turn on Do Not Disturb While Driving mode
1. Open settings
2. Click Do Not Disturb
3. Click Activate under Do Not Disturb While Driving option
4. Then choose whether you want the phone to manually enter the Do Not Disturb mode, so you would have to click it on, or whether you want it to automatically detect when you’re driving.
You can also choose the option to enable the Do Not Disturb when connected to Car Bluetooth, which is something people with fancy Bluetooth cars (or HDs!) can enjoy.
5. Scroll down and you can change the auto-reply message that will be sent to people who text you or ring you while you’re driving.
6. The auto-reply by default will only be sent to your contacts that are Favourited, but you can also edit this so you will get notifications from Recent contacts or all contacts – or no one if you want to be alone with the road.
*you can customise the feature to allow calls, texts from your favourite contacts to notify you even if you’re driving, but the person will have to follow up their text with the word urgent in order to get through to you.
You can set the feature so it replies to your contacts with an automated message telling them that you’re driving or the person can follow up their text with the word ‘urgent’ in order to get through to the notification barrier.

1) I still get the 'text exists bubble' on my BOOM screen to indicate a new text came in
2) the iPhone generates the auto reply (BOOM plays no role in this)
3) I can still listen to the text message content via BOOM
Am I following so far ?
So after I turn the bike off/disconnect BT, text message behavior is 'normal', right ?
And this should behave the same way for my cars that allow a BT connection to read text messages to me ?
If so, I might actually install IOS 11 much earlier that I'd normally perform an upgrade ! Outside of the beta version, any idea when IOS 11 will become available through the normal upgrade process ?
