Have any of you guys done a swap yourself on your fork sliders and cowbells? I'm looking to swap my factory stuff with some powdercoat parts. I curious as to the ease of the job. Looking in the manual it doesn't seem all that bad, but I'm no mechanic either. This is for my '17 RGS.
It is a pretty easy job...if you're mechanically inclined, you have a decent set of tools and a place to work...
If you seriously question your abilities with a wrench, have it done...'caus if you get fugg'd up, make a mess and need help, it's gonna be hard to take it to a shop with the front end laying all over the floor.
If you're going to split the fork tubes for wazoo sliders, ya may as well upgrade the internals to Ohlins or Progressive etc.
