On my 2014 FLHTK, I'm still running the stock heated grips with 32k+ miles on them. They heat up fine but in all honesty, I take or leave them. Curious if anyone has replaced their stock heated grips with non-heated grips and what was your experience in doing so with regards to install, removing the heated grip wiring, etc.?
If you want to go with non heated I would leave the wiring in there just in case you or the next owner wants them back. If you want a set of stock grips I have some like new takes off's I will sell you. They are from my 14RK and should fit. I believe the left grip wire harness would be external?? But if they are internal, just unplug them and leave the wire harness in the bars. The right side is inside the bars and there is a plug
I went from a limited with heated grips to a Road Glide Ultra without heated grips. In the winter, I miss those heated grips. On group rides, I miss the cb. That’s about all I miss from the limited.
I know that doesn’t answer your question, but there it is.
