Default Let's Talk Lower Fairing

This is not to discuss the "best" or the most "budget friendly". What I am more interested in talking about is painting the inside portion of the lower fairings. I have seen all lower fairings come in unfinished matte black. Is there a very specific reason for this? will be getting a set of lower fairings form my RGS. I want to see about painting the inside portion so it looks more uniform with the inner front fairing that is painted. If you have a painted inner portion of the lower fairing, I would love to see a picture. Thank you all.

Personally i find the matte black easy to maintain. Ive got a size 13 and they get rubbed. The matte never looks dirty. If i were to look into painting id want my lowers to match my fairing. Why not? Maybe something to consider? Having them painted gloss black to match the special inner? Or having both painted to match? Just thinking out loud.

Yeah, I think a painted inside would get scratched up from dirt/road debris/boot marks etc, and show a lot of dust collection.

I would definitely paint to match the gloss black inner fairing on my special. I would like to maintain uniformity as much as I can.

I’m just over six feet and have lowers on my SGS and I must have a short inseam because I don’t think I could touch them with my size 12 boot if I tried.
I really don’t see where I could scuff them?
I like a painted inner fairing and now that you mentioned the lowers gloss, I like that idea a lot!
