I picked up a RGS and I'm thinking about what I'm gonna do for exhaust. I have black exhaust on V&H pipes on my Dyna and had black power duals on the Street Glide I traded in on the Road Glide.
It seems like the OE Harley heat shields have a much better coating on them so I'm thinking about going with Jackpot header and reuse the OE heat shields.
I like V&H products, but there black exhaust is not the same color. So is there is there a black muffler out there that matches the coating on the heat shields?

Before you go through with slip-ons, regardless if they're V&H or not, have you checked with your dealer about anything like that affecting your warranty? I've read some of the posts on the forums that H-D is really scrutinizing third party aftermarket add-ons. I know there are a lot of sea lawyers who will say adding slip-ons will not void the warranty, but...
The Magnuson-Moss warranty act prohibits a manufacturer from denying warranty claims solely on the fact that you installed aftermarket parts. They would have to prove that the part caused the issue.
"FTC Validates Right to Install Aftermarket Parts. In a Consumer Alert issued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the agency confirmed that “The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket part.”

First thing I always do when adding aftermarket black muffs....throw them in my sandblaster and blow the stock coating off with 110 AO. Then I hit them with Cerakote Black Glacier. MUCH more durable and looks amazing. No rust, no stains and easy maintenance (just need to wipe down with detailer once in a while). Granted, you need a little bit of "custom coating" knowledge and some basic equipment but I learned everything online and have less than $600 in equipment (which I also use for powder coating). Best of luck to you!

aftermarket mufflers can contribute to the motor running leaner than designed for. Hence more engine wear. Its a slippery slope and youll be lucky to win. So lets say you tune it. But to them maybe you didnt have it done properly etc etc etc
So just answering the original question about slip-on mufflers that match the stock heat shield. Not discussing any possible warranty issues...
I swapped out the OE mufflers for Cobra 909's in black. I liked the price, and the lifetime warranty, and the rolled end looks (at least to me) better. The black matches the OE heat shields. Other options from Cobra require tuning, tuning was not required/recommended for these. They didn't induce any popping, so seems to be good. https://cobrausa-vtwin.com/baggersre..._black/6108RB/
