Ok so I am a procrastinator when it came to updates to my 15 SGS..
So I finally tried to update my boom 6.5
My radio has never been updated before. so I am showing on the radio I think 1.18.2 for the current update
which I believe came that way from the factory.
So I decided to download the new updates to a zip drive and try to install it the 1.22.02 .
Am I right that the radio won't acknowledge the update because I have never updated the radio or am I not down loading the zip
correctly and the radio will skip all of the other updates before this last one?
Thanks for your help
Title Should read UPDATED and I should wear my glasses!

Reason: misspelled title
You can upgrade to this version, doesn't matter one bit that you skipped other upgrades, this one has all of the previous changes.
You must not be doing something quite right. You have to download the file, and unzip. Then copy the unzipped file onto your thumb drive.
Some people have trouble with the format of their thumb drive, I never have it's always just read the file and initiated the upload.
I guess I need to download a file for my 18 FLHTCU, suppose it wouldn't hurt to see if it's in need of an update. If it doesn't need one it won't take, right?
You can compare the version on your Boom Audio unit to the version on the website. I don't remember off the top of my head how to check the version on the bike. I don't know what would happen if you tried to install the same version that is already there, but it won't hurry anything if you try.
When you plug the thumb drive in the bike a screen will pop up asking you if you want to replace the file on the bike. It will show you the old (on bike) and new (on stick) versions

When you download the file to your computer, unzip it, then on a clean thumbdrive, copy just the .iso file onto it. That is the file the bike is looking for.
if your radio and nav works for you dont screw around with updates you dont need
if something is bugging u go ahead and try to upgrade
if it anit broke...
