Default brakes

i know this isnt the mechanic forum, anyways i replaced pads on rear of my 2014 flhtcu. i used the paste on the back of the pads like the service mgr told me to, and the idiot sheet that came with the pads said to do. but now im getting a loud chatter when stopping. did i not use enough paste? i used all that came with the brake kit. assume the paste is to stop the chatter? nobody seems to know. anybody else run into this issue? i used the stock pads. i dont see anything in the service manual about this issue.
thanks

The paste is for the rear pads only. My 14 Flhtk also makes a chattering sound more like a howl from the front end. Been doing since day one and when it was new dealer cleaned up brake dust and it helped for a while. Doesnt do it all the time but is more pronounced when they are wet or brake dust has built up. Bike now has 90K on it whith no other brake problems.

Don't brake too hard. Your rotor is used to the old pads. Also take some sandpaper and in a circular motion scratch the rotors to create a new surface.

I use EBC HH pads. No paste needed. No squeal, no chatter good initial bite and smooth braking action. You can hear the whirr from the drilled rotors a bit more with them.
