I removed my rear wheel early this morning and took it to my Indy Dealer when they opened @ 0900. They immediately took the wheel in the back and said it will be about 35 minutes. Talking about service! I chose the Dunlop American Elite. Other than test ride after installing rear wheel it seems ok so far. And here is a picture of the little culprit who cost me $290.

wagsrk08 - yep, they are costly.

Any chance you have ESP - tires are covered.

Just changed the Front on my '16 Street Glide Special.
Got 13,000 miles on stock Dunlop.
Went back with an American Elite.
I LIKE these tires...............................

At what tread depth should you replace tires? Stock tires on my 16 Road Glide Ultra and current rear is 5/32 and front is 4/32.

I'm getting over 27K miles with each rear tire, but there is plenty of miles left each time. Actually, I'm using car type tires on my 16RGU. Better traction in cornering, breaking and acceleration, especially in the rain.

Manufacture states wear bar is at 1/32. They are scary worthless at that point. Depending on where and weather you ride, IMHO, plan to replace at 3/32. Think about how much rubber is actually contacting the road. I prefer to ensure there is a place for water and other obstacles to ‘ flush’ out.

2015 SGS, just turned over 20K with stock tires as well and still have several K to go. You know they're fine when you have it at the dealership for service and they don't even MENTION them being long in the tire tooth much less tell you you're going to DIE if you don't replace them NOW!
