I have a 2014 Limited with 57k on it. Three weeks ago I ask what it would cost for a new 2019 and they told my $15k plus fees. They will deal more on older models that are new, everyone wants a 2020 at this point and they won't give much yet.

The wholesale on a 2014 Limited is somewhere between $10,000 and $13,000. Adding the wholesale price to their $18,000 offer doesn't sound like mad pricing. Either you sell the bike outright hoping to get $13,000 this time of year and negotiate off the floor price, or negotiate your trade-in and floor price. I think you are starting at a good price considering this time of year.

The new bikes price will stay the same or go up (typical MoCo) while yours goes down.

The price was before fees and taxes.

So they wanted your bike PLUS $18K for that new RGL?

And Harley wonders why their sales are decreasing. That bike is like the Denali of motorcycles.

OP's bike is 6 model years old. Unknown mileage. New RGL is $28K and change. Add TT&L. That's a reasonable deal. Sell that bike outright on the used market and if it has average mileage, OP is lucky to get $13K. So not a bad offer at all in reality. A hard pill to swallow, sure, but not unreasonable.

This is not my dog - I am just holding the leash. Here is what I don't understand.

If I wanted to buy a Purple bike with certain things on it - and, my dealer didn't have it, I amy come on here and ask you guys if you are aware of where such a bike is located.
On the other hand, if my dealer had that bike and I wanted it - then, I doubt I would come of here and ask you if this is a good deal.

Good deals vary - what you think is a great deal might be something I would never do. If I wanted it - and had the money for it, it would be mine; regardless of the opinions here.

This is completely different from - does the Purple bikes have a good track record.

Hmm, maybe you need to let go of that leash.
