Yes, it raises the rear about 1/2" when you have the sag set appropriately.

Let me clarify: unladen (without you on the bike) it is 1/2" or so taller (depending on how much sag you set). Laden (sitting on the bike) it should be the same height as stock (depending on how much sag you set). Now, there's the in-between when you're stopped and you put your feet down and take some of that weight off the bike, it will raise up some, maybe 1/4" or so (depending on how much sag you set). The 13" Legends are 1" longer than stock 12" shocks, however, the amount of travel in the 13" Legends is greater than the stock shocks, so that is why a 13" Legend doesn't sit 1" higher than a 12" Harley shock.

Not that I could tell. But the bike rides so much better than stock. I also did not notice a difference in steering.

I just put Revo 12" on my Ultra Low this weekend (I could not wrap my head around the idea of changing the geometry of the bike by going to 13", thus the 12"s) and I am very surprised at the immediate and positive difference they have made! Bumps I feel in the stock front suspension I do not notice at the rear and it just seems to want to eat up the miles without beating my butt and spine !
This heavy, big assed machine also feels much more civilized and composed in the turns and curves as well and I cant wait to "fix" the front end....

Definitely agree!

However, on the geometry front, comparing to the 12" stock "low" shocks:
  • the 12" Legends sit at 11.5" laden (1/2" shorter than stock),
  • the 13" Legends sit at 12" laden (same as stock), and
  • the 14" Legends sit at 13" laden.

For those of you with M8 motors who installed yourself, what did you torque the upper/lower bolts to? Folks on here (and elsewhere) say the spec is 63-70 ft-lbs. Did that during my install and it was too much and compressed the included aluminum sleeves to the point where the shocks won't pivot on the bolts. UGH.

I had read somewhere (I know, I know. I need a Service Manual) blue loctite and torque to 40 ft lb, which I did yesterday when installing 13# Revo -As on a new SG. Although I obviously do not know what the stock shock bolts were torqued to, it clearly took nowhere near 70 ft lb to loosen them with a standard 1/2" socket wrench.Gotta say, the difference in ride is dramatic.

Did you by any chance reuse the flat washers that are part of the stock install? The Legend instructions specifically say not to use them, as that would cause the exact problem you mentioned.

As a side note, last week end I loosened then re-torqued mine to the recommended 63-70 ft lbs (from 40 ft lbs I had originally done). Shocks were as advertised.

Max torque is 40 for these shocks. Anything higher and the aluminum spacers will collapse and the upper/lower points will not pivot as designed. The 63-70 rating is for the stock shocks only. This came directly from Legend when I spoke to them (after destroying my spacers).
