Glad to hear it worked. I use to use HD Planner - however, when they upgraded it, several functions were lost, including the ability to import a file. I could not determine why they did that.

When I discovered the Honda site, I found just how easy that was to use- including adding stops and waypoints. In short, what I have been able to do is click on my start point, then click on my end point. From there, I could just look at the map and click on waypoints or stop points. You need not worry ablot the order because when do, you can let the program re-order your directions.

Once done, just export and put it in your bike.

Glad it worked.

Looks like the video I saw is titled wrong. I also saw a message where the import feature has been discontinued. You can import a GPX file to your GPS however. You can edit it in the GPS... but not a way that I see to import anything... so you can't even convert it to another file format nor can you save it form the GPS and import it into Ride Planner... a discontinued feature evidently. Sorry for misleading you. Use google maps instead I guess.

Ok...... now there we go! Honda Trip Planner is pretty damn nice!

I road a route on Saturday using the HD Trip Planner that was a scattered hot mess. The route being read out in my bluetooth was all over the board for the 1st 5 miles or so and the map on the screen would show for me to go left AND right at a "T" intersection! WTF!! So I routed the same exact trip out on Route Converter yesterday, which was a little easier than HD TP, but my Boom would not show it in my list of trips even though it SAID it had imported it just fine. Right now, in like 15 minutes, I just routed out the same exact trip on Honda Trip Planner, threw it on the thumbdrive, loaded it in the Boom, pulled it up, and all is good! I don't know how well it will navigate on the screen and through my bluetooth, but my hopes are high. Just need a good day to ride it! (5 hour trip)

Thanks cycle7447!! I'm going to play with this some more, but so far....... so good! AND the OP got his wishes too!! Good job!

Thanks again, I was messing with the Honda program and it seems to be much more user friendly. Only PIA is every time you drop a waypoint or location it zooms you back out and you gotta zoom back in, a minor inconvenience. I saw you mention that after you finish your route it will recalculate the waypoints, will it put them in order along the ride route? Yesterday I made a route and decided to change a few things so I was moving waypoints around and the route got kinda messed up, could I have just added another waypoint and in the end re-shuffle them all and they would recalculate the route? The route I was attempting had a lot of waypoints in a small area so that might have been the issue. I really gotta spend some time with it. Stay safe...

IUOE Rob - just go ahead and add the new waypoint. Once it is there, look at the route - each waypoint has a letter.

On the left side, highlight that letter, you'll see edit, remove and some up/down arrows. Just pull it up or down to where you want it. Example, if you added letter D - and you now want D in B's place, just move it up tp B. All else will adjust itself.

When in the Honda Route Planner, are what you are referring to as "waypoints" called "Stops" in the Honda Planner?

It looked like it took and I was excited to see if it would work, but like I said, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. At least the program is free and didn't cost anything.
I have a tutoral PDF on how Route Converter works if you want to PM me with an email address. Within RC, there is a spot to enter the Route Name. That route name is not the same as the file name unless you set them to be the same.
Sounds like you have had success with the Honda Planner?
