Greetings. Concerning the coolant. Twice now I've added coolant after a ride. When I get back to the shop and park it will overflow some coolant. Have you experienced any overflow after a ride?
Greetings. Has anyone's bike expelled any coolant upon return, when parked?
Thanks
Shouldn't do that . Bad cap or filler neck and maybe even the thermostat could be bad. The water pump may not be running like it should too.
Don't know what year bike you ride but if it's a 14 to 16 all of that is suspect.

I assume that you are adding coolant while the bike is: a) cold; b) on the jiffy stand, and c) to the cold fill line on the reservoir
To do this without the bleed tool do you:
1. Remove the cap
2. Disconnect the hose from the pump, let it drain
3. Simply refill let it run then add as needed? How do you bleed the air out?
I think the service manual states to leave the cap on as it will pull the coolant out of the overflow bottle when you pull the line off the pump.

As far as I know everything was and is operating correctly. I've ridden it twice since replacing the coolant. Each time it burps a little coolant from the overflow. Seems to be getting smaller each time, and once cooled the coolant is closer to the cold full line.

Yep; cold bike, jiffy stand, cold fill line. 2017 Limited. Followed the manual refill method. I was just wondering if it was common for some air to be trapped in the system, and if anyone else was experiencing it.

Sometimes they're a little temperamental, some burp a bit, others nothing at all. When I did mine I overfilled it (accidentally) by about an inch over the line. It never burped anything on the ground and after almost 1000 miles it's now a little UNDER the fill line, I'll add a touch to get it to the line and leave it. They all expel the air in the system differently. Don't worry about it, if you want carry a water bottle half filled with coolant and a small funnel around for the first few hundred miles and keep checking it, sounds like you'll be fine. And if not you'll know about it soon enough. Good luck!
