Default Tpms

Followed a post on here by Trigger-Man about the Installation of TPMS sensors on a 15 RGU CVO, having the same bike it caught my attention, I had this done today and pleased to say I now have TPMS displayed on my GTS, this will also work with the GT radios for those that have been wanting what could be a life saving warning of tire pressure issue.

I hope this is true because about a year or so ago I was investigating this for my 14 SGS and I was told at my dealership that it couldn't be done because of, I believe, you need a CVO wiring harness for the bike to get flashed correctly? Don't shoot me if I'm wrong, I actually WANT to be wrong, but that's kinda what I remember. Anyone??

The older style sensors, and why would any dealer give you flack for this ?

Sensor were 100.00 each, Rushmore Bike years 15 down will need a new BCM with new fobs that was 300.00.

LOL Completely wrong, TPMS was made available in 2016 CVO, all bikes 2016 and up will not need a new BCM, just the sensors and flash to turn on TPMS.

Triger-man has extensive Info on this, he includes in his post all part numbers needed to complete this upgrade, well worth the investment for those that want TPMS.

Search Trigger-man post.

What bike (yr/model) and wheels did you do it to 30glock? I am curious if the HD sensors will work on the 16 RGU stock rims.
If you don't have a CVO, where does a warning show up at for low tire pressure (as far as I knew a CVO tach is required for the dummy light for TPMS)?
Does an alert automatically pop up on the stereo?
I thought I'd read that post and BCMs had to be switched out on all non-CVOs... I'd like to be wrong lol
Thanks for the info.

I know in another thread (probably the one 30glock is talking about) it was a major discussion. But some ran into road blocks with the wheels, due to the stem diameter. And, yes dealer flack. I've read where some dealers (mine included) simply said it cant be done. The reasoning why? Never been elaborated on, but it could do with the wheels.
Much like the car play hack that was happening there for a bit on the GTS, with no WHIM. Dealers would flash the radio so car play would work, then all of a sudden. They wouldn't do it anymore unless you had the WHIM.

just reading these forums there are some dealers who simply wont do anything that's not in the box. If your bike didn't come with it or you didn't buy it. we ain't doing it..... sad, but apparently happens a lot.

15 CVO RGU, wheels with 11.5mm valve stem will require a grommet seal, sold on FOBO Web site, those with the 8.5 stem requires nothing, my wheels are stock CVO 8.5. Only the 16 and up CVO has the tach with this warning light, mine does not have it being a 15, however it is not required as the warning pops on on the GTS display exactly like the low fuel warning. BCM from 16 up are the same I believe, but if you had to change it what is the big deal?

You guys that are having Issues with dealers need to find other dealers that will do this, only road block is the valve stem size but that is easily addressed. The reasoning why that has not been elaborated on is because there is none to elaborate, This can easily be done for those that refuse to take no for an answer.

There is an after market device like the Digi-tech ( name escapes me ) but any Indy that has this can Flash and enable the TPMS option for you, they can also flash your BCM or replacement BCM.

Had mine done at Pocono Mountain HD your local dealer can call Brian Service Manager for Information if needed.
