Hey there how's it going? Just upgraded to a 2017 Road Glide Special and I'm looking to upgrade my seat. Looking for a solo seat and was curious what people recommend. I am a big dude 6'3 and 300 lbs as well so what are my fellow big guys using for a solo seat?
Corbin solo with backrest. Look no further.
seriously the fist thing I do is replace the stock seat with the above.
for me, the best investment I have in my rides
Corbin seems to be a popular favorite, I'm a little reluctant untill I can actually sit on one, because of the pricing. I can say from personal experience mustang is VERY comfortable, but, I personally do not like the look. I would recomend taking a look at c&c, much better pricing, but again I have not sat on one.
It certainly depends on what you value as most- to least important in a seat.
I'm currently waiting on my C&C Solo to get here. Shipping has been delayed due to the winter weather. I agree on the Mustang...really comfortable, but they don't look as good.
Not the same bike, obviously, but I do agree that the Mustang is extremely comfortable and we use it with most two-up riding.
I also agree that you need to look into C&C - Chuck and company make awesome seats. I had them make a solo, and a ‘sport touring’ (two-up) and have had them for many years now. Very well made, excellent looks, one of a kind, and I’m extremely happy I did so.
I am 6' 1" w/36" inseam & 76" wing span (long legs & arms); I like & use a Mustang super touring solo, because it raises me an inch & sets me back an inch, and is 17" wide for more support. It come with black pearl studs/chrome studs/or plain. I have had it on my last 2 bikes, find it very comfortable, and my only regret is not adding the extra coin for the backrest at the time of purchase. (Added the Grasshopper back rest later) No matter what seat you opt for will have to go through a break-in period which will void any chance of return, so choose wisely and good luck.
I am running a Mustang Super Solo with driver backrest (mostly not on), and it is the best seat I have ever used. It's two piece so I run it solo but have a pillion for my wife too when she rides with me.
Had a Mustang Vintage solo. Was pretty good. Internal backrest. That was on my 08.Tried the Sadlleman Dominator solo hated that. Since 2016 I've been running the P&A Low Profile solo been on 3 bikes. Best seat I've had. Been from Maine to Wyoming to North Carolina and everywhere in between on this seat. 600+ mile days I have an Airhawk R I toss on.
