Long story short: lost FOB, ordered a new one, just got call that it is in.
QUESTION: Can the dealer program the new FOB without my bike being there? I am the original owner of the bike, I bought this bike from that dealership, they know me, but it is very cold out, and would rather not have to take it in. I have one of the original FOBs in my possession if that would help them.
Like he said, they'll need the bike to pair the new FOB to the bike's BCM, thats what has to be programmed. What has to be done has to be done to the bike.
As far as having to pay to have it program, thats going to be up to the particular dealer doing it, but hopefully if you bought it thru them they'd set it up for you free...
