Just to clear up any confusion that -might- exist.. The FOBO isn't compatible with the Harley TPMS which is part of the RDRS option. https://www.bluegrassharleydavidson....r-systems-rdrs . The FOBO sensors won't talk to the Harley TPMS system.

The images shown in this thread are Apple Carplay images, which are mirrors of what's on an iPhone. Without Carplay set up on your GTS, you won't see the pressures. (The image below is what the Factory TPMS screen looks like on a GTS) . But if you have Carplay it's a great way to check the pressures without having to look at the phone. (One of those things that make CarPlay 'worth it').

FWIW, on my last bike I ran the FOBO system for two years, 12,000 miles on rubber valve stems with no problems.

FOBO provides a slick Apple Watch app. You can read your pressures on your watch and if a tire goes down when riding, if you have the haptic feature turned on, it will 'buzz' your watch to let you know.

FOBO does track you. You must allow FOBO to access your phone's GPS and you have to be connected to the internet for it to work. FOBO beams your position data back to the mothership. (Other apps do this as well. Waze, Google Maps etc)..

Factory TPMS screen that comes with the RDRS option:

Just to clear up a little miss information:
As for FOBO being NOT "compatible with Harley" this is very TRUE, BUT, almost NOTHING is "compatible" with Harley! and before you say it, YES, today, a bit more is true,
I own a 2014 SGS and I can hook my phone and play music but that's it! Cant make a phone call! and same true thru at least 2017...
As for it having to be connected to the internet to Work, this is a half truth. you do have to log into your FOBO account which does require internet, BUT Once logged in you can lose that internet connection and the app and the sensors still talk and display\record\Alert you!
IE it does NOT require internet to "WORK"! Internet is only is required to initialize the app. leave it open and internet is NOT required for it to work Its works via Bluetooth....
For me, its open if I am on my bike!

I have been using it for 4 years now and have NEVER had a problem with it working,
Ever! and thru most if not all of California, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado and at least large parts of: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, and South Dakota.
You use your Phone or such devices and install an app like everything else today.

The FOBO mothership is in Malaysia which is still part of the free world, if there is such a thing any more :-( as opposed to China or Russia and by the way your vacuum could be calling back to China today!!!!!!
So for me I don't care that I have one more app tracking me.... "ONLY while Using the app"

As far as rubber versus steel, as noted by TPMS vendors and just tire vendors, rubber deteriorating is normal and why every tire change, the valve stems are changed as well.

Autos and motorcycles.

Hen talk of the aftermarket TPMS “ripping” off the rubber stem, as many apparently didn’t pay attention in school.

The spinning tire is in motion and everything on it is in motion. There is no flinging of the valve stem as it seems the hen talk alludes to.

And as 702 showed, if you’re running Apple car play, what is on your phone shows on the GTS head unit. Same with AA.

Just do it if on the fence…

Santa brought me the same one last year for my 14 Ultra Classic. Mounted on the left side fairing opposite the cubby and it's been working great for a little over a year now.

I started this thread about TPMS systems and it ended up causing me to take out my original GT 6.5 Boom and buying a Boom GTS system. I was on the edge of doing it anyhow and with some of the replies in this thread, made the final decision. I love Android Auto in both by 4 tire vehicles and decided that I'd buy the the FOBO's TPMS and use their app in Android Auto to monitor bike tire pressure using the GTS. Probably when I get new tires I'll go ahead and get the HD system which will show up on the GTS screen without it going thru an app.

Not sure what you are doing wrong, but I connect my iphone to the bike, and can make calls out, using siri, from the hand controls. I also receive calls thru the bike, amd it displays who the caller is on the Boom GT screen. My bike is a 2014 FLHTCU. I also upgraded my bike to the HD TPMS, via new BCM and adding the in the wheel HD sensors, as SSITRUC laid out in previous posts. It DOES require getting the bike rolling for a few seconds to update from overnite though.

"handirifle" Not doing anything wrong per say,

My phone can connect to the Boom 6.5 via Bluetooth (my SGS does not have the Boom GT) and from there it half works.
As in, you can hear the phone and a caller thru the speakers BUT, you cant talk with out a specific mic setup that plugs in and allows you to use the talk button.
Its been to long now and I have forgotten the exacted setup you have to have to have for it really work.
but the point is I decided that I was not interested in buying the HARLEY specific crap that will connect to make it work,
.
So I just don't connect my phone to it,
I use a USB stick for my music and I get a higher quality sound that way, and,
While on the bike I don't need to use my phone, IT can WAIT, it works better that way!

On his Special it doesn't have anywhere to plug his headsets in, unless he adds a headset jack/harness or adds WHIM (plus a headset)... so as is, he's gonna have issues pairing his phone with his bike and trying to talk on it.
If i remember right, the Specials don't come with the jack/whim... but either can be added... its just money
