I have EBC pads and rotors front and rear, and they work much better than OEM.
There is a trade off, however.
At 28k miles I replaced rear OEM with OEM.
I again got 28k miles from the replacement OEM pads.
So, at 56k miles I went with the EBC.
I'm at 14k miles on the EBC rears and they will soon need to be replaced. (Fronts are still in great shape)
And that's the trade off. Better braking action, reduced longevity.

I noticed the same thing. Worth it to me though, they grip nicely.
OEM for me. About the same price for equal products and the kits come with all the pieces. I change them when I change tires because It's easy then and they are cheap. Never scrimp on tires and brakes.
