I'M 5'8" so I want something lower, but I want something comfortable for mamma. I'm looking hard at the Mustang Low Down seat.
i see a bunch of yhose on marketplace, theres a handful on pittsburgh area marketplace currently. im fairly certain all the mustangs put you down at least an inch and back a couple. im not saying dont get a lowdown because they seem to have high turnover, im saying check marketplace and craigslist first because you might find one that just didnt work for someone at a bargain.
softer doesnt mean more comfort. most aftermarket seats are actually harder than the hd seat with a more rigid pan so the support doesnt go away. ive had c&c, an ultimate, stock hd and a rock hard corbin. my favorote, by far, was the rock hard corbin because it maintains its shape all day and disperses the load of me across my entire butt. after seeing a few aftermarket seat pans my opinion of the hd seat pan is not very good, its a thin flexable piece of crap imo.
Softer was probably a bad choice for a word. Mean City doesn't sell seats they rebuild and make them better. www.meancitycycles.com
IMO the only Harley seat that is even close to comfortable is the Hammock seat off a CVO other than that I would look to the after market
I tried a new Mustang super Tour on my '19 electra Std. when I bought the bike new but the wife thought it was too firm for her, then I picked up a Hammock and we've both been very pleased with it.
Went with a used touring seat that I bought on this site for a hundred bucks. To me, it is ugly on the bike, but it is comfortable for my Mrs. I put it on along with the tourpac when she wants to ride and take it off and run a Street Glide seat when solo.
I had EG Classic seat felt great but looked ugly and sat high, so I bought Street Glide seat and would switch once a while. Then bought a Street Glide but I don't think I could look at that ugly EG seat on my Street Glide, plus sits higher. Street looks cool sets nice, rides a bit harder, I'll get used to it or have Mean City rebuild it for more comfort.
My wife loves the LePera Maverick. She doesn’t feel the seat pan ever. She’s about 5’9” 170#. I also like the way the seat feels and its contoured looks on my SG.

Does it change how you sit on bike at all? Is it worth 500 bucks compared to stock for you also?
