ello I have a 2014 Electra Glide Limited with heated grips. The bike has throttle by wire. All of a sudden the throttle is staying open. Any idea how to fix this?
To clarify the above, the most common cause is the twist grip being "pulled" inboard by the switch pack so it binds on the end of the handle bar. Loosening the switch pack and moving it outboard slightly (away from the center of the handlebars) relieves the binding and all should be normal again. Was there a heavy bump against the twist grip pushing it inboard, or did the bike fall over and the twist grip get jammed into the floor or ground? Something like that has enough force to move the switch pack inboard enough to cause the binding you are experiencing.
If that doesn't fix it, you may have a lot of dirt between the twist grip and the handlebar that needs to be cleaned out. I hope your heated grips didn't have a thermal "runaway" that might have softened and deformed the plastic tube making the inner surface of the twist grip.

just fixed similar on a friends Road King... turned out when someone fitted his bars they had rotated the TBW further than they should (about 360d)
I undid the switch gear, pulled the throttle by wire out and let the wire rotation undo, now it doesn't 'spring' open when he lets go. It was causing a higher than normal idle.
