I will either get the Fat Bagger metal part or order another cable with metal adjuster, learning every day. I was just going to delete the post but maybe someone was replying so I'll leave it. Unquote

I don;t know your level of knowledge or mechanical skill. If you replace the 2 piece cable with the 1 piece cable, the side cover on the transmission must be removed and partially disassembled to change the cable. That involves removing a strong snap ring and without the proper pliers, they have a tendency to launch themselves into outer space, never to be seen again, or to hit you with painful force. Installing the Fat Baggers doohickey does not require changing the lower cable.

Thanks btsom,

I'm new to M8's. I knew I wanted to replace that cheap plastic part once I found out only last week that was under the cover. (I saw a YouTube Motorman did on it, and was intrigued) then looking at it on my bike I posted above. What you refer to makes sense and hence why that is adjusted is mid way. Thanks for your input, I will either do the Fat Bagger or the cable Cozmic has, just waiting for him to chime in then I'll decide.

The Fat Bagger parts are simple to install, can't figure why HD used that cheap plastic piece of junk.
Personally I wish they would have just left the hydraulic clutch, have had a couple bikes with them and no complaints.

I will definitely replace that plastic part but want to hear your thoughts please.
You are making me into something I am not! LOL

I did run the Fat Bagger extension on my 21 SGS when I replaced the handle bars. From what I read and was told it was junk and worse than the stock HD setup. I then updated to their

EZ Clutch Adjustor Upgrade Kit (Part #109811)

I think this is a pretty good upgrade to eliminate the failure points.

Fast forward and I was speaking with Jake the parts guy at Smokin HD. I mentioned this and he said follow me. We went outside and looked at his bike and this was the first time I had ever seen or heard of Magnum Shielding. I was blown away with the quality, look and simplicity. For me it was a no brainer, but a lot more money and time to install. I had the dealership install one on my Road Glide, and I installed the one on my Street Glide.

It inspired me to truly learn how to adjust a cable clutch. Prior I was pretty dumb and now I have my friction zone just where I prefer it and both bikes slide into neutral with ease.

I hope this helps.

Thanks very much, I really appreciate you and your detailed explanation. I will get the Magnum Shielding as well then.

I didn't like the pull of the stock Harley cable either. I installed a Mueller Power Clutch kit in my bike yesterday. The pull is considerably less and it came with a metal adjuster, like the Fat Baggers adjuster. It didn't take too long to install it.

It is part number 120-80. It was really easy to instal. The hardest part was cutting the stock plastic part off of the factory auto adjuster. The new machined adjuster is a really nice piece.

I didn't take my exhaust off either. I loosened the header bolts and pulled the pipe out about an inch. There was plenty of room to get the side over off. I think I could have done it without shifting the exhaust (I have a FM catless pipe though).

I checked in with AIM and their response was that they use all factory parts but it won't work if you have a gear position sensor.
