I really don't like the new street glide ultra so I found an almonst new FLHTK 2024 and I bought it!
which are the best upgrades to do on this engine?
heat problems? Change the exhaust and the manifold? Air cleaner? Oil radiator? Oil pump?
to be honest I even thought to leave the engine stock because here in Italy are becoming quite severe with open exhaust.
Better seat?
I will surely change the headlight because to me the high beam is incredibly poor, it seems to me that the old 7" headlight with a xenon kit is a better and cheap option. I read to turn upside down the spots so it' free, than install the small fog lights at the bottom (does it worth the cost?)
last thing on my previous FLHTK I had Öhlins sunspensions, do you suggest me to remove them from the old and install on the new? I see that the 114" has a different kind of shocks compared to my old one (2014).
Öhlins have only 25.000km
Thanks for answering
greetings from Italy
That huge airbox that is covering the right side of the engine would be the first thing to go, Something like a S&S Stealth behind the stock cover makes a large difference in engine heat and now cooling air can reach more of the engine.
I on my 114” have a stainless header without the catalytic converter free flow slip ons from S&S, ventilator air cleaner, and power vision3. I raised the fuel tank 2” for more air flow to cool the engine. Rider and passenger footboard spacers 360 degree highway pegs for comfort. Better seat with backrest and new bars.
