We have a report put together with tips on How to Get Your Comfort Triangle Set for You that may prove helpful.

Our page on Bagger Comfort Mods might also provide some interesting ideas.

I put floor foot mounts on my 2007 Ultra that move them forward and down. Put a Sundowner seat on Fits me great at 6' 3"". Bought my 2018 Ultra. The stock seat sit me way forward. Crushed my nuts. Super uncomfortable. Did a lot of research. Looked in to Mean City Cycle Seats for customizing of stock seat.. Tirelessly searched Harley forums on opinions on seats. Pros and cons on all seats. My indie had a Mustang Super Deluxe Touring seat for demo purpose. Not saying that it influenced my choice. But. That is what I purchased. Didn't have to change floorboard position. I love it. 400 miles a day.

Old 96 I hadn't thought about Mustang seats in years. I still have the Regal Duke wide on my 76 FLH and still love it (although I did have to dig some of the padding out of the back step to let me slide back some). Do you know how your new Mustang would compare to the Saddleman Road sofa? I definitely like the look of your Mustang.

Also a SUPER +1 for the Tall Boys floorboard brackets. Absolutely essential for taller riders. You will also need the Softbrake brake pedal and 1" spacers that allow it to fit. Those three parts work together to make a bike seem like it was made for taller riders. It makes working the rear brake MUCH more comfortable as well. I would recommend doing that mod before any seat mods. You will have a lot more seat choices with that extra leg room. Part of the cramped feeling for taller riders is the floorboards are too close to the frame, so you subconsciously tighten your hamstring muscles to keep your feet planted. Moving the boards outwards and downwards eliminates that problem as well. Spacing the boards out also make it easier to use and live with a heel shifter.

Here is the difference between my 2007 Ultra with Tall Boy brackets and my 2018 with stock brackets.

So I felt the same way with my 2017 Ultra Limited and here's how I fixed it. Put floorboard extensions on that moved the floorboards out, had my seat modified by Mean City Cycles that pushed me further back and added an adjustable back rest. I recently traded the 2017 UL for a 2022 UL and have to start over with the exception of the seat which I swapped out. It was very comfortable and I could easily ride for hours.

Is out the answer? Old frame is lower?

It is one of things preventing me from warming up to new bike. Maybe even keep me from buying newer Harleys

I don't see why people think new frame is so good

Can you use adult words to describe why it is better? At this level I can win the debate, but saying, no I like it a lot more.

I like the stereo and saddle bags better on the rushmore. But when it comes to riding, I don't like it.

Rounders I immediately noticed my 23 handled MUCH better than my 2010. I don't know why, but it does. I do miss the air shocks though. I thought they were great. I've started another thread trying to decide on what shocks to get to reclaim that plush ride. The lower profile tires I think add to the stiff ride as well.

A seat that pushed me back an inch but retained my adjustable backrest and the tallboys brackets with one inch spacers really helped.

Oddly one thing I really miss from the 2010 was those taller saddlebag guards. I would put my right leg out on the highway peg and lean back on that guard supporting myself with my right arm. Was really a relaxed position to ease up on some stiffness. When they lowered the saddlebag guard for passenger comfort that position doesn't work anymore. I've almost thought about seeing of the old saddlebag guards would fit the Rushmore bikes.

New frame came out in 2009
. They may have made additional changes, but a new bike often feels better than an old bike, whether it is new parts or new payments that do it

My 2015 is harder to pick up. I have wondered if harder to get a grip. Though maybe screen is in fairing is weight up high? Not sure why, but it is heavier bike.
