Put S&S 551 cams in about 2K miles ago. I like the performance of the cams, made a nice difference, but I feel like I have a fair amount of engine vibration after the install. It was dyno tuned after the install and there are no noises from the motor or anywhere else on the bike. Generally the bike shakes at idle and has some vibration until about 3k RPM. After that is smooths out, but still buzzes in the floorboards. I've checked and re--checked the exaust...no signs of leaks at the headers, everything is tight, nothing seems to be in contact with the frame. Front motor mounts are good (I have glide pro front mounts). Bike behaves, mileage is 41-42 cruising, engine temp is good. I had a TC88 before this 103HO motor and I really noticed that the 103 was a lot smoother than the 88, now I fell like they are about the same. Not really sure where else to look....maybe the tune isn't great? I would think I would see crappy mileage with a bad tune or a timing issue, but that is not the case.....I find that I am looking at everyone else's scoots now to see if theirs vibrates like mine. Anyone else have a similar problem after cams?

The 551 has an earlier intake close than the HO cam.. Don't know the actual close but but the 551 is 19 degrees. The old 88A was 38 degrees.. That would mean about a 15 psi in cranking comperssion.. That means more TQ. More tq more vibes.

As far as I know,, yes. They were done by an indy shop. Is runout really as common of a problem as the forums seem to make it? Also, if th crank was out of spec, wouldn't that have resulted in vibration before the cam swap?
