ambient temperature probe, goes in a hole on left hand side bottom on the inside of fairing. Or just zip tie it inside the fairing.

Thanks guys! After I found out what it was I checked my shop manual to see where it goes. I'm in the middle of a amp and speaker upgrade and didn't remember pulling that off. Now the bike will not start. Just spins but no start. So I'm taking it all apart to find the problem. First time for everything.

The real question about the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor is......... how do you calibrate it so it's closer to the actual air temp........
(Waiting for those to chime in about, "It's useless", "Why do you need/want to know the temp anyhow", "They should've never put it on a bike anyhow", "Back in the days we rode motorcycles for years not knowing the temp". I've covered those comments for you already, lol.......)

Apparently, my ambient air temperature sensor doesn't require calibration. When I took this photo, my bike had been parked in my garage for several hours.

My ACU-RITE digital thermometer which has proven to be accurate, confirmed it was 72°F in my garage.

Also, I have EITMS disabled because I rarely find myself in conditions where it would be beneficial. For those that choose to enable EITMS, activation/deactivation is dependent on input from the ambient air temperature sensor. I could be wrong, but I believe the factory predetermined minimum ambient air temperature required to activate EITMS is 80°F.

So in other words, while some may claim knowing the ambient air temperature is useless information, it's useful information to your ECM.
