Mine burped a few times, and now it's leaking from the thermostat. Not convinced they have a firm fix on the thermostats leaking as I've heard of people having two or three installed and still have leaks. Asked the dealer if a new, better thermo was introduced, and he said no. I'm not going to replace the thermo until they redesign it. I still carry a bottle of coolant and a funnel in by bag just in case.
One my third thermostat. The bike only has 625 miles on it. I've got 200 miles on the third one and so far it's holding. I am nowhere near convinced it will last the life of the bike.
The poll is a bit misleading as there are two common "leaking" issues.
1) The burping or puking issue. This seems to have been fixed by the filler neck recall. I haven't read of anyone having this issue with a new filler neck.
2) The leaking thermostat issue. I don't think HD has a handle on this yet. I personally know of several people on their third and forth thermostats. It's this last issue I'd like to see data on and more importantly, a fix.
Luckily, if the poll is correct, 65% of us have had neither issue.
8,500 Miles and No Leaks - Had the Filler Neck bulletin done but no leaks before or after. I've ridden in heavy traffic and above 90 degrees and the cooling fans came on and it seemed to be a lot cooler when stopped and idleing for extended periods.
I was fortunate to be able to have the clutch master cylinder rebuilt the next day after I got the notification from my Dealer and I did not have any problems with it before either.

I agree with you. I would like to see data on the thermo's. Mine leaked with ONE mile..on it..
I had no leaks for 6 weeks and 1,160 miles. Then after sitting parked overnight one night I found a quarter sized spot of coolant under the bike. Checked it out and discovered the Thermostat housing was leaking at the elbo on the right side. Took it to the dealer. They replaced it and when I went to pick it up they told me they had one in stock but Harley told them not to use it. They wanted to overnight a new and improved one. After they they told me that I decided to look at it before I left. The new and improved one was already leaking at the elbow. They kept it and Harley overnighted a second replacement. They called me after the second replacement and said they took it for a 10 mile test ride and inspected it and no leaks. It was cold and rainy so I had them deliver it. When they rolled it out of the trailer I looked under it and the second replacement was leaking at the elbow. So back on the trailer it went. They called after the third replacement and said they took it for a 10 mile test ride and no leaks but they wanted to keep it over night and check it again in the morning. No leaks with the third one. I have only put about 200 miles on it in the last 3 months due to the snow and cold but so far so good. It seems like they don't leak when hot and under pressure, but only during or after cool down. That's why when the dealer would replace it, test ride and inspected it when they got back it wasn't leaking but would be when I got it back several hours later. Attached are pictures of the original and second of three replacements.
