Default I'm Impressed

So today I ride 40 miles to the dealer going to get my 1000 mile service done it's not to bad out cloudy and 40 degrees, I get to the dealer go in say I'm here to drop off my bike for its first service and start looking around at stuff and owner comes up says how am I doing tell him well and I'm dropping bike off for its first service and I'll probably hang around about how long will it be and he says they don't have a teck working on Monday so he looks in the apt book and yes its booked for today but will be serviced the following day. Well that don't work for me as I don't have a ride home or a ride back so the owner says no problem you go enjoy the day riding we will send a truck out tonight to pick it up service it tomorrow and will deliver it back to me Wednesday morning. That's what I call service, thanks Mountain View Harley.

Yeah, we're fortunate down here to have similar service from Wildcat HD.

That's awesome!

I bought a plan with my bike that covers all factory services for the next 10 years with NO mileage limit. It's called preferred maintenance. I can have them come and pick up the bike or get a loaner bike of my choosing.

Nice...they recognize a problem, cater to customer and work a deal to please. That's how you get repeats and business - good deal for you & kudos to them!

That's what those that don't own HD's don't understand. Yes they are expensive, but the service and comradery that comes with them is priceless. Mine is in getting it's 1,000 mile as well (a little overdue). One of the service guys offered to drive me home in his personal vehicle. Fortunately I live a mile away and needed the exercise, but it was an awesome gesture nonetheless. Tell me of another company that does that??

I can name 2.

The guy at San Antonio Dodge gave me a ride home the night I bought my 2014 RAM 1500 4X4 CC, and came to get me the next day when they had my truck ready for delivery. I thought that was good service.

I bought a 2013 Cadillac SRX. When the service was due, they drove to my house, dropped off a 2014 Cadillac ATS for me to use for the day.

They brought my SRX back to me clean, waxed and detailed.

And the maintenance is free for the first 50,000 miles.

Yes free. No plan to buy, no contract... free.

Tell me of a HD dealer that provides free service... some do the 1000, but how about for the first 4 years you own it?

MY HD dealer, Caliente HD in SA, told me I "HAD" to bring my 2014 FLHTK to THEM for the 1000 mile service, at the cost to me of $375, or my WARRANTY would be VOIDED.

I know better, and politely informed him he is not allowed by law to say that, and that I would be doing my own services, thank you... at which point he replied in a very sarcastic tone, "it's your bike and your warranty, do whatever..."

I know there are great dealers out there, and mine did me right on the deal, more than expected for my trade etc., etc., etc....
But they are not all great.

I should have been more specific I guess...motorcycle company. I guess some of us are luckier than others. I guess I've been spoiled in my area.

I can't answer to that...

I've never bought a new bike other than Harleys... I've owned them all, just never bought any new.

Maybe I'm a bit jealous, I wish I had a dealer here that had great service, AND that I feel I could trust.
