On my 2014 Ultra Limited I'm trying to get the Automatic Volume Control to work. I can get to the setting directly under the Balance and Fade option and can set it to 1 - 4. But, nothing happens. I thought when you came to a stop the volume should decrease to whatever the 1 - 4 settings is set to.
The volume stays at where ever I had it set to, which is normally loud on the radio, media, or weather selection! Am I missing another setting somewhere?
The AVC does not work correctly on the 14 models. When you set it at number 4 it barely adjusts the volume and the only time I hear a change is when I pull away from a stop or when I am just about stopped.
Not missing anything. There are other threads on this. It kind of works, but not significantly. It only changes once when you go from 0 to something and then when you hit 0 again. The 4 options are how much it increases all at once. No more changes at different speeds. Not very useful.
Guess I'm lucky. My radio gets noticeably muted when coming to a stop. Think mine is set on 4 but the kid at the dealer did it so not sure. Have to check tonight.
On my '14 Limited the AVC did not work at all prior to the latest software update and now it works sometimes. When it does work it is very slow to adjust, either up or down, and none of the settings (1-4) on the setup menu make any difference at all.
I am not a software programmer but have worked around aircraft avionics systems for 30+ years and this seems to me like it should be a pretty simple change. Maybe next time...
