Would be interested to know how many folks with Ultras (lowers on) have issues with too much wind coming up from below. Ok I know that long beards tend to blow up, but other than that, is there a real problem?
No problem w/ wind blowing up from the bottom w/ Ultra lowers on. W/ the lower vent doors open or closed, didn't feel any difference from wind blowing up. Passenger gets a lot of noisy air, but not me. Also have a large Clearview w/s (1.5" longer than stock) that I look over.
When it gets hot, the lowers will come off and maybe I'll get a set of fangs if things seem too turbulent.
Hey guys, I have a FLHX and when I was riding at 75mph I get really turbulent wind coming up from the below. I put my hand down near my knee and notice that it stops. My question is has anyone else had this issue and will something like the hard lowers help?
I'm good at 80+ all day long depending on wind conditions. Fork wind deflectors and a Freedom Shields 9". I wear a FF modular helmet and can hear the radio fine at that speed.
I just installed the fangs on my SGS. I've also got the medium Clearview shield on order that should arrive next week. I'll post my thoughts on that setup as soon as the Clearview is installed. I called and had Clearview install a vent on my shield. The additional airflow should help push the pocket of turbulent air over my head...to be continued...
You might consider - if it's wind coming from below (rather than over the windshield) - a relatively simple solution: Desert Dawgs Rain & Wind Deflectors (yeah, they do more than block wind).
