I have only used my PV on my 09 with a map from FM. I plan to get an additional license for my 14 and a FM map. Not having read the manual in depth some of the terms you used for the map points jumping with cams aren't clear to me. So what did you mean by making the 750 to 1250 on bikes with cams across the board? Is that rpm idle speed?
You will need to check that A PV1 will work on your 14 bike. I am not sure it will as my 14 SG is fitted with a PV 2 that I took off a 2012 CVO Convertible. As someone said the PV1 and PV2 are made for different data connectors and are not interchangeable as far as I know.

Fuel Moto said they would sell me the correct cable at the time I want to go that way. According to them the cable is the only diff.
Monitor front and back Cyl Head temp, Front and back ping instances, Intake air temp, Engine temp. PV2 cable is 40 bucks with shipping and second license is $199.00 (no shipping, process is handled over the 'net - get the cable, dump files from the new bike, send it to them, they send you back a file to load to the PV and then marry to the new bike).
PV1 and PV2 units are completely identical.
The only difference is the cable. The pinouts are different on both ends of the cable, but in both cases only 4 pins are used.
I made my own PV2 cable. If interested, I will post pinout here.

I just picked up the PV2 for my 2014 Limited. Flashed it last night. Much better.
