Dropping the bike off this morning gave me an excuse to hit the showroom and look for parts, been throwing around the idea of a new seat. I feel like I'm in the tank especially when I ride 2 up. Stock seat is ok for 50-100 mile rides, after that I'm ready to shut er down.
6' 4" 38 inseam. I tried sitting on a Tallboy they had on a flhx and it seemed to make a difference, but there's only so much you can feel just sitting in the showroom with no highway pegs or anything. Anybody have/ enjoy theirs?
I ran a tallboy on 11 Limited. It was ok. Never was quite happy with it. Have left the stock seat on the 14 so far. I've been considering a hammock seat but thats as far as its gone.
I just can't justify myself spending $800 on a seat. I'm sure they are really nice, but for $800? I need to demo a few out with the wife with me. Anyone have any suggestions? Not really stuck on hd brand

I am in the same boat. Going to try the $80 Kuryakyn Footboard Extenders to move the footing out and up. If that doesn't work then seat is the next option. I would really like this to work so I can take the stock seat to Steelhorse Bob and get the Gel insert. I heard that makes a lot of difference. I will be keeping an eye on this thread!
Comfort isn't an issue for me, it's more of feeling cramped. With my feet on the highway pegs by myself it's the perfect set up, 2 up I feel like I'm 1: about to eat the dash. 2: squishing my wife between me and the backrest. Hopefully a seat will fix the problem. The aftermarket seats seem to be all around bigger, especially in the passenger area.
It's weird because we bought a touring bike to be more comfortable but I felt more stretched out on my softail.
I demo'ed the '13 tall Boy seat which supposedly moves you 2'' back. It seems ,to me, that the seat is sloped forward and I kept sliding forward on it. The '14 seat is supposed to move you back 1 1/2", but again appears to be sloped forward. I bought the Ultimate SoloTall Boy seat which moves you back 2" and is sloped to the back. I'm very satisfired with it after 5,000 miles. They offer a 2 week trial period. Might be worth looking into.

I tried finding that seat and came up blank, is there a link to it anywhere?
1: about to eat the dash.

So.....you are big guy, no? <Russian Accent>
I don't know how a seat can make you skinny but good luck!! I have an adjustable backrest so can move it a few inches back and forth. Even with a seat that would move the passenger back (so you aren't eating the dash) would move them further into the pad, unless the pad is attached to the seat. Either way, I am interested in finding out how you solve this problem.
I don't feel like I am eating dash, just get stiff knees becuase the angle of my legs. Even then I had to move the backrest forward for my wife, she is 5'10 and I am 6'.
I wouldn't consider myself BIG, big framed I suppose. 6'4, 230, 38 inseam. Anything would probably be better than stock seat, may try floorboard extensions as well. I'll keep y'all updated
