If your ignition is not locked, and someone tries to put the ignition in the start position with no fob in range it will chirp for a few seconds if they do not turn it back to the off position the alarm will go off and I believe if they try that three times the alarm will go off. If the bike is stood up in up-right position off the jiffy stand it will do the same thing unless set back down right away. If the bike is on the jiffy stand and someone just moves the bike back and forth/shakes the bike it will NOT sound the alarm. I had one on my FLHTC and the only reason was I liked the two way pager when I was at hotels, or inside somewhere eating and could not see the bike.

That's the way my 12 Limited worked. On my 14 Limited if you turn the key to on or accessory without a fob. nothing comes on except the odometer says enter pin. But if you tilt the bike with the switch in any position the siren chirps and if you don't put it back on the side stand the siren will sound. If you have the fob it chirps once when you turn the ignition on and twice when you turn it off. The siren also has a built in battery. If someone removes power (like removing the bikes battery or cutting the wires) the siren goes off even if the fob is present. To keep that from happening you must turn on the ignition with a fob present then remove power.

You must turn the ignition on with a fob present. That's the only way I have found to stop it once it goes off.
